Covering the ancillary beat at Labelexpo Europe

I had the honour assisting Labels & Labeling in covering ancillary equipment exhibitors at Labelexpo Europe 2023 that took place 11-14 September in Brussels.

As the majority of my clients are in the label printing industry, I’ve been in regular contact with the editorial team at Labels & Labeling over the last 10+ years sharing news releases and editorial contributions. I’ve always held high regard for the publication and am grateful for everything they’ve published on behalf of my clients.

When the L&L editor contacted me regarding my interest in visiting exhibitors of ancillary equipment at Labelexpo Europe and report on what they presented at the show, I immediately accepted with delight.

There was significant advance preparation involved to assemble the list of exhibitors I needed to visit and slot relevant press conferences into my calendar. I also had the opportunity to meet other members of the editorial team on a Teams call and in person at the show which was also exciting (and intimidating at the same time) as I have so much respect for what they do. It was like meeting celebrities, as in my mind, they are!

I noticed during my research many exhibitors didn’t update their company profile on the show website, or take advantage of contributing complimentary content for the show preview feature in Labels & Labeling. Exhibiting at industry events is a significant marketing investment—I urge you to take advantage of all available promotional opportunities as an exhibitor.

During the four-day show I walked back and forth across nine exhibition halls lugging my heavy knapsack with my laptop and product literature I received. But it was so worth it. What an amazing experience meeting so many people passionate about their company’s products, eager to share information, and excited to be back at Labelexpo Europe after four years.

Ancillary products are an invaluable part of the label printing and finishing chain. You can read the report I provided here. The entire Labelexpo Europe review is available on the Labels & Labeling website.
